King Scallop Season – Isle of Man 2021/22

With effect from Monday 1st November, the Isle of Man Sea Fishing Licence is due to open the 2021/22 King scallop dredge fishery.
Following recommendations from the Scallop Management Board, the Department of Environment Food and Agriculture has set the Total Allowable Catch (TAC) at 2,049 tonnes, and Daily Catch Limits (DCLs) for vessels at 700 kg.
There are king scallop Restricted Access Areas and Closed Areas at both Chickens and Targets, as well as the East Douglas Experimental Research Area closure. These closures are in addition to the network of inshore Marine Nature Reserves.
Fishing activity remains subject to a curfew 1800-0600 and is open 7 days-a-week.
